FDL man facing charge for fireworks incident

JANESVILLE, WI (WTAQ) - A Fond du Lac man faces a reckless endangerment charge, after he allegedly threw fireworks into a bonfire at a party northwest of Janesville.

Four people were burned, including the 41-year-old suspect – who was taken to a Janesville hospital but refused treatment.

Rock County sheriff’s deputies said a group of people were sitting around the bonfire when the Fond du Lac man threw a bag of pyrotechnics into the flames, and the bag exploded.

24-year-old Tanner Hall and 25-year-old Amy Brzezinski, both of Janesville, were in good condition at last word at a Madison hospital.

25-year-old Kalyn Schremp of Edgerton was treated at a Stoughton hospital and later released. The explosion happened around 2 a.m. Sunday.

Before that, deputies said large amounts of other fireworks were set off during the party. They said alcohol was a factor, and more citations are possible as the investigation continues.
