GREEN BAY, Wis. (WTAQ) - Upon arrival to northeast Wisconsin, President Obama was greeted by a couple gifts of the green and gold variety.
Green Bay Mayor Jim Schmitt and Governor Scott Walker presented Obama with 3 Packers jerseys.
"Sunday was a tough day for Bears fans," Obama said at Orion Energy Systems in Manitowoc. "But even if it didn't go the way that I wanted, I'm glad to see that one of the greatest rivalries in sports is still there.
"And we will get you next year. I'm just letting you know," the President said.
The President previously said he would attend Super Bowl XLV in Arlington, Texas if the Chicago Bears won the NFC Championship. The Bears ended up losing to the Packers 21-14 last Sunday.
One of the jerseys, is an autographed Charles Woodson #21. At a press conference Wednesday, Woodson says he wanted to get a gift for him to treat him right.
"Well I voted for him," Woodson says. "Why is he not a Green Bay fan? You know I jumped on his bandwagon a couple years ago. For him to only go to the Super Bowl because Chicago is there, it's not fair to me. I'm a voter, I'm a taxpayer, I want him to root for the Packers as well."
Woodson also wrote on the jersey, "see you at the White House."
