ATLANTA, Ga. (WTAQ) - The Green Bay Packers are facing the number one-seeded Atlanta Falcons tonight in the NFC Divisional Playoffs at the Georgia Dome.
Following an opening drive turnover by Greg Jennings, the Falcons drove 48 yards on 7 plays, capped by a 12 yard TD run by Michael Turner giving Atlanta a 7-0 lead.
But then the Packers went on a 13 play, 81 yard drive capped by a 6 yard touchdown pass from Aaron Rodgers to Jordy Nelson to tie the game 7-7. Rodgers complete 8 straight passes on the drive.
On the ensuing kickoff, Falcons Pro Bowl kick returner Eric Weems ran the kick back 102 yards for a touchdown. Atlanta led 14-7.
The Packers came back on the next drive, and the green and gold carved up the Falcons defense. A 10 play, 92 yard drive was finished off by a 1 yard John Kuhn TD run, tying the game at 14-14.
Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan then began to unravel. Ryan threw an interception in the end zone, intended for Michael Jenkins, Tramon Williams made the pick.
The Packers then drove down the field, capped by a big go-up-and-get-it 20 yard TD catch by James Jones. Ryan then finished the half on a roll out pass, intercepted again by Williams, who returned it 70 yards for a touchdown.
Packers lead at the half 28-14. Rodgers is 18-of-21 for 234 yards and 2 TD's in the first half. The Falcons, who are the least penalized team in the NFL this season, has 5 penalties in the 1st half.
The green and gold opened the 2nd half by marching 80 yards in 12 plays, capped by an Aaron Rodgers 7 yard TD run.
Following a three-and-out by the Falcons, Michael Koenen shanked a punt, that went out of bounds at the 50. The Packers then scored on a 7 yard TD pass from Rodgers to Kuhn, capping an 8 play drive.
The Falcons opened the 4th quarter by finishing a 73 yard drive, with a 5 yard TD pass from Ryan to Roddy White. Packers still lead 42-21 in 4th Quarter.
