Michigan Put A Scare Into Top-Ranked Ohio State Last Night

Michigan had a 3-point lead over top-ranked Ohio State at the end of first half last night but the unbeaten Buckeyes wore out the Wolverines after the break to win 62-to-53 at Columbus. Super freshman Jared Sullinger posted 19 points and 15 rebounds to power Ohio State, which is off to the second-best start in school history.

Tim Hardaway Jr. provided 15 points and five rebounds for the Wolverines while Darius Morris chipped in with 12 points, four boards and four assists as the U-of-M slips to 13-and-10 overall while 3-and-7 in league play.

Michigan’s 26-to-23 advantage at the break disappeared when Ohio State began looking to Sullinger just about every time down the floor. He exhausted the Wolverine’s defense and it’s one reason why the Wolverines had 23 fouls in the game compared to the 11 called on the Buckeyes.

Michigan returns to action at Penn State on Saturday when Ohio State faces a test at Minnesota.
