GREENDALE, Wis. (WSAU) – An overnight fire forced a Catholic church in Greendale to cancel its Christmas Day masses yesterday.

Nobody was hurt and things at St. Alphonssus are expected to be back to normal by next Sunday.

The church held at Mass at 10 p.m. Saturday, less than three hours before the fire broke out.

The fire started in the sacristy where decorations were stored. The two morning Masses on Christmas routinely draw crowds in excess of thousand.
