GREEN BAY, Wis. (WTAQ) - The Packers Hall of Fame Inc. is unveiling rare audio recordings of a Packers great, donated by his nephew.
Don Hutson's nephew handed over the recordings of radio program demos from the late 1940's.
Steve Hutson of Mequon donated the unusual vinyl-coated aluminum records that are 16 inches in dameter and play from the inside-out.
Tom Murphy, Packers Hall of Fame Inc. archivist, said, "these records are a great addition to our archive of physical items - but to also have these recordings in digital format really makes this donation special. We can make clips available to our members via our new online digital archive and we can offer them to fans as a digital download.
Don Hutson played for the Packers from 1935 to 1945. The recordings include his commentary of Packers football in 1949.
This coincides with the push of the Packers Hall of Fame Inc.'s new website located here.
