GREEN BAY, Wis. (WTAQ) - The Lambeau Field Atrium is playing host to the National Work Zone Memorial.
It's a 20-foot long display with about 1,400 names of people killed in work zone crashes.
"We want people as they enter work zones to pay attention, put down your distractions," says Wisconsin Department of Transportation Secretary Mark Gottlieb. "Protect the lives and the safety of the people out there building the roads and enforcing the laws."
Gottlieb says the message is especially important for drivers in northeast Wisconsin with the ongoing U.S. Highway 41 project.
Governor Scott Walker also issued a proclamation of Work Zone Awareness Week April 11-15 in Wisconsin. The memorial will be on display inside the Atrium until Friday.
