Minneapolis, MN. (WHBL-Learfield) - Today's 100th border battle between the Minnesota Vikings and the Green Bay Packers could also be the last time future Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre faces his former teammates. Favre and his Vikings need a win to retain even a ghost of a chance at a playoff berth. Minnesota comes in with a 3-6 record and fading hopes of post-season play. Favre has said this will be his final season in the NFL. He says he hasn't thought about playing the Packers for a final time -- only about getting a necessary victory.
Meanwhile, Viking wide receiver Sidney Rice has been added to the active roster and will get his first action of the season today. Rice, who was one of Favre's favorite targets last season, underwent hip surgery in August and has missed every game leading up to today.
The Packers, coming off the bye-week, need a win to keep pace with the Chicago Bears in the NFC North. The Bears have a half-game lead over the Packers.
You can hear the game today on WHBL. Pregame starts at 10am, with kickoff at noon.
