GILLETT, Wis. (WTAQ) - An autopsy was planned Wednesday for a person killed in a house fire overnight in Oconto County.

Firefighters were called about 11:30 p.m. Tuesday to a two-story home on West Pine Street in Gillett.

Timothy Zippel is the owner, but authorities have not identified the victim. And they have not said whether it’s male or female.

Gillett Fire Chief Tom Wolfgram did not know exactly where or why the blaze started, but he said there’s no evidence of foul play.

It took about 5 hours to put the fire out, and the home was a total loss.
