GREEN BAY, Wis. (WTAQ) - Out in the bitter cold, Green Bay firefighters deal with a challenging fire Tuesday night on the northeast side.
Firefighters say it was so cold, a Green Bay Metro bus was brought in as they battled the blaze at 2649 Appian Way, to keep them from being injured by the cold temperatures.
A neighbor called 911 to report smoke and flames around 7:30 p.m. Crews had to be evacuated from the house about 10 minutes into fighting the blaze, because conditions were too dangerous to continue an interior attack. But eventually, they knocked out the fire after 45 minutes on the scene.
Nobody was home at the time and no one was hurt. The two occupants of the house were displaced and the Red Cross is giving them a place to stay.
