OSHKOSH, Wis. (WTAQ) - An Omro mother accused of drunk driving and leaving her baby in a submerged SUV will stand trial.
27-year-old Kayla Westenberger waived her preliminary hearing Thursday and faces charges of first-degree reckless homicide, homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle and child neglect resulting in death.
Prosecutors say Westenberger smoked pot and drank while pregnant and drove her SUV into the Fox River in October with her 8-month-old son strapped in a car seat.
She'll enter a plea December 13.
