Packers horse whisperers

The Packers broke these Colts in a big way Thursday night at Lambeau, routing the reigning AFC champs 59-24 in the 50th annual Bishop's Charities Game.  After falling behind by a touchdown in the game's first 22 seconds, and trailing 17-7 in the first quarter, Green Bay reeled off 31 straight points to turn the game into a rout.  Aaron Rodgers fired three touchdown passes, Matt Flynn had a pair and the special teams scored twice.  More game details and post game interviews can be found on the Packers blog.

Brewers swept

The Los Angeles Dodgers completed their first series sweep since late June at the expense of the Milwaukee Brewers, winning 7-1 at Miller Park Thursday afternoon.  6 pitchers combined to allow the Crew only two hits, a Prince Fielder solo home run and a Jonathan Lucroy single.  Yovanni Gallardo was tagged for 8 hits and 6 runs in 6 and a third innings, including a two run shot from Casey Blake.  The homestand continues with the Pittsburgh Pirates coming in for a three game series this weekend.

T-Rats routed

The Burlington Bees stung the Wisconsin TimberRattlers 10-3 on Thursday night  The T-Rats wind up the road trip in Burlington tonight before opening up a 7 game homestand Saturday night against Kane County.

High School Football is back

The 2010 High School football season opens tonight.  Among the big matchups on opening night, the 105th meeting between Green Bay East and Green Bay West.  Defending classic conference champion Bay Port opens at home against Sheboygan South.  The Bay conference features Seymour at West De Pere, a big clash in the FVA is Kimberly at Appleton North and Green Bay's NEW Lutheran plays its first varsity football game in school history tonight at Gibralter.
