MARINETTE, Wis. (WTAQ) - A firm that makes fire protection products will get a state tax break of $837,000 to move its engineering headquarters to Marinette. Governor Jim Doyle announced the tax credits today for Tyco Fire Suppression and Building Products.
It’s had a presence in Marinette since 1912. Now, the company is spending $10 million to build a new “Center of Excellence” to house its engineering operation and an expansion of its testing labs, marketing, and training facilities.
The training center will be called the Ansul Fire School. It will teach basic firefighting procedures to its customers. Tyco acquired the Ansul Fire Protection firm in 1990. It sells fire extinguishers and detection systems under the PyroChem and Ansul brand names.
