KALAMAZOO -- Police have a suspect in custody for a shooting in the Edison neighborhood last week that left one man dead and his half-brother wounded. The Prosecutor’s office has issued a warrant charging a 26 year old with open murder, attempted murder and assault.
He is being held for a probation violation and is expected to be formally charged later today.
Police responding to reports of shots fired at Portage and Washington Ave. after two small groups clashed found 29 year old Dajuan Davis and 21 year old Virgil Love wounded. Davis later died.
The suspect has done time for assault and attempted burglary.
