Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker has signed a bill making making a crossbow hunting season available to Wisconsin residents. The crossbow season will coincide with the regular whitetail archery season that runs from mid September to November before the gun season gets underway. Crossbow season will also be available for smaller game including rabbits, coyotes, etc.
Prior to the bill, crossbow hunting was only available to residents over the age of 65 and those with disabilities.
Some opposition has been brought forward from traditional bow and arrow hunters thinking that it will change the atmosphere in the woods.
Governor Walker signed the bill on Tuesday .
