Nothing can ruin your day like getting a speeding ticket. How exactly can you minimize the damage to your wallet? Jerry Kane, 53 year old retired New York Police officer, gave some insight on how to avoid these types of tickets.
1) Drivers and passengers have been known to come out shooting, so if the officer can see everybody's hands, he relaxes a little bit. If it's nighttime, turn on the interior lights in your car. If it's night or day, lower all the windows in your car and put your hands up on the steering wheel. Could make the officer more lenient.
2)Play Dumb. Ask the officer what you did and then be apologetic. Saying something like "I must have...I just didn't realize it," could get you off the hook!
3)Crying and showing a little leg only works to the women drivers, I wouldn't suggest trying it if your a guy.
4)Keep your speed less than 10 miles per hour over the limit!
