Here’s a list of the six things you should do at the end of every work day. It’s mostly about organizing stuff so you’re stressed out the next morning.
1.) Evaluate Your To-Do List. Obviously that means you should already be making a to-do list every day. If there’s anything on it that you could do in five minutes, do it so the next morning won’t be as hectic.
2.) Start a New To-Do List. You’ll add to it and update it the next day, but according to one expert, it’s important to give yourself a head start whenever you can.
3.) Reflect on Your Day. Even if it’s just for 30 seconds, try to think of something good that happened or something you achieved. It’ll help you leave work on a positive note, and hopefully in a slightly better mood
4.) Clean Up. Meaning your desk and anything in the kitchen you’re responsible for. That way you’ll feel like you have a fresh start when you come in the next day.
5.) Say Goodbye. It only takes a second, and helps you stay friendly with your co-workers. Nobody likes the person who just gets up and leaves every day without saying anything.
6.) Don’t Take Your Work Stress with You. Chances are you have plenty of stress to deal with at home too, so do your best to forget about work once you leave the office.
If you have a desk job, try turning off the email alerts on your cell phone so you won’t check them all night. Just make sure you tell your co-workers you’re doing it, so they know they’ll have to call if they need to get in touch.
