His name is Naki’o. He's the first dog to be fitted “with a complete set of bionic legs.”
His owners abandoned him as a puppy when their Nebraska home was foreclosed, and he lost his paws to frostbite after getting stuck in an icy puddle.
He was adopted by a veterinary technician who raised funds necessary to purchase prosthetics for Naki’o's hind legs.
Orthopets, the company that designed and fitted the dog’s new limbs, decided to provide Naki’o with front paws free of charge after seeing how enthusiastically he took to the prosthetics.
“Naki’o can now not only chase after a ball with other dogs, but he can beat them to the catch!”
