An air guitar rocker, known as Nordic Thunder, has been crowned the 2011 U.S. Air Guitar Champion.

The competition was held in Chicago.

His viking-related set includes drinking from a horn, a trademark outfit including a leather tunic and a loincloth and a painful bare-legged power slide that usually ends in blood loss.

Over the years, he has suffered a ruptured disc and has undergone knee surgery perfecting his air guitar.

He compared the competition to sex, making the air guitar competition more pleasurable.

He says he accomplished his goal and will defend his title next year.
