It was 29 years ago today that John Lennon was murdered outside his apartment building in New York City.  Most of the nation heard about it via the radio, or ABC's Monday Night Football.  Howard Cosell broke in during the Patriots/Dolphins game to announce to the world that John Lennon was shot. 

The Beatles were not only a huge influence on music for generations to come...but also to me personally.  I remember as a kid driving around listening to the Beatles Greatest Hits 8-Track in my moms big ugly brown station wagon.  Their music stayed with me to this day.  When people ask me my favorite bands and Albums(which happens a lot in radio) it's always The Beatles 'Abbey Road.'
