"Dark Shadows" . . . the latest collaboration between JOHNNY DEPP and TIM BURTON . . . hits theaters on May 11th.  And it looks pretty good UNLESS you're a fan of the original gothic soap opera it's based on.  Yes, "Dark Shadows" was a real daytime soap.  It aired from 1966 to 1971 and featured an old dark manor, ghosts, witches, the odd werewolf here and there and a vampire named Barnabas Collins . . . which is who Johnny is playing. That of course wasn't for laughs....this one looks to have quite a few.
