Bengal hunting begins

On almost a perfect weather day, the Packers padded up for the final time this week in advance of dress rehearsal number three Thursday night in Cincinnati against the Bengals. Now in the regular season practice mode, the team actually implemented basic game plans, specific for the Bengals.    In one team period, specific game situations, namely third and one plays were covered.  The Packers ranked among the worst teams in the league in converting third and one's and the first, second and third string offenses failed again.  Aaron Rodgers third and one pass to Jordy Nelson was broken up by Sam Shields but a 4th down pass to James Jones moved the chains.  Backup Graham Harrell handed off to Cedric Benson on the next series and he was stopped and a 4th and one pass was batted away by Jarius Wynn.   Third stringer B.J. Coleman handed to Marc Tyler for no gain and a sideline pass sailed downfield without a receiver in sight.  The first team offense worked on the no huddle again, quickly becomming a staple under Mike McCarthy.  Rodgers converted a 4th and 7 pass to Greg Jennings on a drive capped by Jennings catching a touchdown from the 6.   Two nice picks from the defense today, Casey Hayward snatched a Harrell back shoulder downfield throw for Tori Gurley and Robert Francois intercepted a ball on a curl route over the middle.  One injury reported Monday, rookie tackle Andrew Datko suffered a concussion Sunday and did not work. His availability for the Bengal game may be in question.
