The Packers returned to work after a two day break from their second straight Pre-Season loss Thursday night to the Cleveland Browns. Back in pads, the work began on Ray Nitschke field and about 30 minutes in, the rain started falling. It came down hard for a few minutes before lightening up but when a bolt of lightning struck, Mike McCarthy quickly ushered the boys into the Don Hutson Center for the remainder of the workout.
The team welcomed several players back to work, only 13 were not practicing because of injury, the fewest bystanders in over a week. Jermichael Finley coming off a quad injury returned, Greg Jennings was back for the first time in two weeks off a concussion suffered on family night, Sam Shields also returned to the defense.
Cedric Benson got in his first work in full pads. He hit holes hard and ran with rookie enthusiasm all day.
Continuing the revolving door at right cornerback, Jarrett Bush worked with the first team defense. The injured Davon House and rookie Casey Hayward have also gotten starts there.
