The negotiations took place in December and on Friday, Packers president and CEO Mark Murphy announced a contract extension for General Manager Ted Thompson. Thompson had two years left on his deal and it's believed an additional three years were tacked on for the architect of the Super Bowl XLV Champions. Thompson is expected to finalize a similar extension for head coach Mike McCarthy.
Wide Receivers coach Jimmy Robinson is leaving the Pack. He's taking a similar position with the additional title of assistant head coach for Jason Garrett and the Dallas Cowboys. Robinson worked with Garrett when both were with the New York Giants a couple of years ago. Robinson helped develop the Packers wide receiving corps into one of the deepest and most productive in the league, evidenced by number 4 wideout Jordy Nelson's 9 catch, 140 yard and 1 touchdown effort in the Super Bowl.
