Pack is back

The bye week break is over for the Packers as they return to work today.  While the Pack was away, the Bears did play, well enough to knock off the Minnesota Vikings Sunday at Solider Field 27-13.   Devin Hester continually delivered great field position in the return game as Jay Cutler fired three touchdown passes for the Bears who tied the Packers for the top spot in the NFC North at 6-3.  Brett Favre fumbled late in the first half and threw three second half interceptions as the Vikings fell to 3-6 and are now teetering on the brink of playoff extinction as the Packers get ready for round two against the Vikes at the Metrodome on Sunday.

The Packers made news on Friday by placing veteran tackle Mark Tauscher on season ending injured reserve with a shoulder problem that apparently will require surgery.  The team never disclosed just how series the injury was but Tauscher had missed the last five games before the bye break.  To take his roster spot, the Packers re-signed tight end Spencer Havner who was released in camp, signed with the Lions but got cut after suffering an injury.   The move to IR may bring an end to Tauscher's Packer career as he's due roughly 4 million dollars on his contract next season and this year's number one Brian Bulaga has stepped in capably at right tackle.
