The Packers are reportedly interested in former Philadelphia Eagles running back Brian Westbrook. The 30 year old was released by the Eagles following the 2010 season, a campaign which had him miss 8 starts because of two concussions. He's also dealt with knee and ankle injuries in recent seasons, but when healthy, Westbrook has been very productive. In 107 career games, he's rushed for 5995 yards, caught 426 passes for another 3790 yards and has scored 66 touchdowns. The Packers will want to check him out medically and even with that, there's no guarantee a deal, short term at that, can be worked out. If Westbrook does join the Pack, it would be at the expense of Ahman Green, the all-time franchise rushing leader who returned to Green Bay last year and appeared in 8 games, getting 41 carries for 160 yards and a score and catching three screen passes, production that Westbrook could easily match. It could give the offense another veteran weapon to join Ryan Grant and Brandon Jackson in the backfield.
