So it has been a couple of weeks since we let the cat out of the bag and first of all, I would like to thank everyone for their kind words and support. We are so excited about this new chapter in our life, and this may surprise a lot of you, but this is something I have been wanting for quite some time....let's just say my clock started ticking a few years ago :)
So to follow up my last blog post, I figure I should answer the usual questions, and who knows, maybe it can help serve as a little bit of a baby book for Baby Schurk to be able to read one day. So here we go!
Due Date: Our official due date is February 27th...a day after my dad's birthday, and the same day as my godson Zachary. I am thrilled with this date, considering I have an extremely close bond with these two people in my life. I know I will eat my words, but I wouldn't mind if the kid decided to stay in me until March 1st- same birthday as Justin Bieber...totally in the stars, right?
Are you going to find out the sex? The jury is still out. I want to find out the sex, Michael does not. I have three more weeks to convince him, but if he doesn't budge, I respect him wanting it to be a surprise. The sole reason I want to find out, is because if it is a girl, I would like to paint a nursery in pure glitter. No joke.
Do you want a boy or a girl? I know the correct response is it doesn't matter as long as the baby is healthy. I pray daily that this child is healthy, but hey, who doesn't like to play the what if game. What if you got to choose the sex? If I got to choose the sex, I would pick a girl. Only because I want to see Michael with a little girl. I think he would be shaken to the core to know he is responsible, not just for a child, but a girl...and to know that he eventually has to help this little girl grow into a woman. Michael of course would love a boy, because he wants someone to carry on the Schurk name! Again, we are just thrilled that we are even being blessed with a child, so boy or girl, this kid is going to be loved like crazy!
Any cravings? I crave sugar!!! When I see Otis with his daily bag of skittles I literally start salivating! And don't mention pancakes in front of me. I will then obsess about pancakes until I get my hands on some...crap...now I want some pancakes. I am waiting any day now to really start showing. When I look down at my stomach I see a resemblance of a bump...but to most it looks like a beer belly, or people who don't know are probably thinking Katie really is starting to let herself go after the wedding! Maternity pants are a blessing from heaven and I dread the day I have to start wearing jeans with buttons and zippers again!
Well that is all from the pregnant peanut gallery so far! Let me know if you have any fun or helpful pregnancy tips. I just hit 16 weeks, so I still have quite a ways to go! Welcome to this new chapter of the Schurk life :)
