We are back!

So I know what some of you are thinking, what the heck, I thought Katie said she was heading the Dells for her honeymoon...well nope, not the case.  I had to keep a secret forever and I surprised my husband with a honeymoon to Mexico.  Thank you so much Fox World travel- I couldn't have done this without you!  Michael was shocked!  It was perfect!!!

Here is how I pulled it off..

I secretly ran over to Fox World Travel one day while Diesel was at work to go over what I was looking for in a honeymoon, budget, etc. with mytravel agent Michelle.  We opted for a nice 4 star, active resort.  I went All-Inclusive OF COURSE and decided on Riviera Maya.  They seemed to have the most nonstop flight options from Milwaukee to Cancun and its Fox World Travel’s most popular destination, so I figured I couldn’t go wrong.

I knew it was spring break season, but I really didn’t want to break the bank after all we forked out for the wedding.  But I also knew we wanted something memorable and worth the value we were going to spend.  Since I actually booked early enough last summer (yes I’ve been in holding in this secret that long!), Michelle worked her magic and we ended up comparing companies and found us a great deal even in peak spring break season at the Iberostar Paraiso Beach Resort.  We booked a Funjet Vacations package that includes everything.  The hotel room, nonstop flights, and even the transfers are taken care of when we get into Cancun.  While the Iberostar is not a couple’s only resort, we knew we couldn’t go wrong.  Iberostars are popular and this resort complex is HUGE with a few different resorts all in the area.  We’re talking a ton of swimming pools, two swim-up bars, a large beach (with a bar right out there), buffets, restaurants, junior suites, a star wars themed disco… you can’t go wrong!  Did I mention it’s all the food and drinks you want - PURE BLISS!  Michelle did mention that there are golf carts to take you back and forth throughout the resort, but I’m thinking that after a trip to the buffet and few Mai Tais and Miami Vices, I’ll welcome the walk!

The trip was fantastic!!!  We did swimming with the dolphins, went into town, ate until we couldn't eat anymore!!!  I will start posting pictures soon :)  I can't wait to show you the dolphin swim pictures!
