Ok, so Michael and I got in a discussion the other day about Bridezilla. He constantly calls me a Bridezilla. It drives me crazy. Ok, I would totally own up to it if I were being a Bridezilla- but the reason it gets me so mad is he doesn't even know what the phrase means!!!!
I asked him what Bridezilla means and he said someone who is obsessed with the wedding. He seems to think that everything just plans itself. When I ask for his opinion on ANYTHING he gets annoyed, but yet when I tell him I booked something, or signed a contract he instantly says, well why didn't you consult me first? It is SO FRUSTRATING! For example- We have our food tasting in a few weeks. The hall asked us to email them two weeks before the tasting with what foods we want to try. I have asked him at least four times to look over the menu with me. I have asked if we could just do it over dinner. He then whines about having to do it, calls me a bridezilla, and then finds a way to not do it. The menu has been sitting in our living room for two weeks now. He still hasn't told me what food he wants to try.
He also then makes fun of me for getting things done. For example, why do you have to sign a contract for flowers? Why are they so much? If they need a downpayment now, we can wait. Ok, we are now less than 6 months until the wedding. I know brides that have things booked a year or more in advance. I don't know how any of this is making me a Bridezilla...I mean seriously, we have watched the show Bridezillas together. I don't get it.
Does anyone elses fiancais exhibit the same behavior? I was watching Mike and Molly last night and this was exactly what the show was about. Planning a wedding, and Mike's lack of involvement. It made me feel a little better :)
* on a side note- Michael I know you will be reading this. Sorry to call you out like this- but you know what you were getting into when you asked me to marry you. Stuff like this is part of the package (as are Murphy and Maino) :) Love you Bird!
