When Kids Won't Eat.

Here is an article I stumbled across while I was purusing the internet today...

That's Disgusting, Kate Gosselin!

A source says that Kate Gosselin has a major problem with her children not eating their packed lunches at school.

Here's what the source had to say about it:

"She repacks it for them in the next's day lunch."

The source also said that it's school policy for uneaten food to be brought home.

"The kids are stubborn, so sometimes the little kids have the same half-eaten sandwich in their lunch all week."

To make things even worse, the source says that the kids get teased for this.

Jon Gosselin also isn't a fan of Kate's frugal ways with food.

According to another source, Jon has said the following to the kids:

"If you lived with me, you wouldn’t have to eat rotten food for lunch every day."

Well, people are outraged with Kate that she would do this to her children.  I have never really been a huge fan of Kate, so some may be surprised at my opinion on this matter.  Well here is my take on the article...Ok again I will begin this with no I do not have children.  No I do not know what it is truly like.  BUT I am a VERY involved aunt.  I eat a meal with my nephews at least 2 to 3 times a week.  I have been responsible for them for days at time.  So I at least have a little insight to this topic.  I am completely siding with Kate on this topic.  I do not feel sorry for these children.  I have watched the show and actually watched what Kate puts in their lunches.  She asks them what they would like.  She makes it.  She adds a fruit or vegetable, along with a juice box or some sort of snack.  There is no way that this is being unreasonable.  Three of my four nieces and nephews will eat anything put in front of them.  I have one nephew who is picky about EVERYTHING!  So I know exactly what she is experiencing.  My nephew will eat pretty much only hamburger meat, ketchup, spaghetti, and chicken nuggets.  I have witnessed the break downs because he hates everything and anything either my sister or I makes him.  It is SO FRUSTRATING!  I am a firm believer in if they are hungry, they will eat.

I know their are going to be people out there that say well give kids a choice.  Don't force food on them.  Don't make them eat something they don't like.  I completely respect that.  My nephew truly hates cheese.  I make it a point to not include cheese in anything I make.  My nephew hates chocolate.  I will not make anything with chocolate if it is for him.  It is when I have seen him eat these foods prior, but just because today he doesn't feel like it, it doesn't give him the right to throw a hissy fit at the kitchen table.  I think this is just a part of growing up.  I don't know how many times I sat at my kitchen table for hours because my mom said I was not leaving the table until I finished my dinner.  I don't hate my mom for it.  I don't think I was being tortured.  I feel that my mom was showing me that she is the adult and I am the child.  Children don't have the rights to make decisions like adults do.  I remember debating with my nephew about eating one night and then all of a sudden it hit me- why am I debating a 4 year old?  Why is a four year old dictating anything to me?  Why is a 4 year old making decisions for the entire family?  And most importantly, why does a 4 year old think he has this power?

Another point to bring up.  She has 8 children!!!  I would be pretty annoyed if I spent the time to make a lunch for 8 children and due to my childrens stubborness half of it wasn't being eaten.  If you want to be stubborn child, I will show you.  Plus, I highly doubt a sandwich is going to become unedible after two days.

Again, I know I am not a parent and I will never grasp this concept until I become one, but I want to know what you guys think of the subject.  I know this is often highly debated and I always love a debate- so please parents feel free to share your thoughts!
