A study found that two-thirds of women feel they would like to lose weight but don't have the time or desire to diet.
Instead, they will try certain tricks to look slimmer, including wearing black, applying fake tan and carrying an oversized handbag.
The most popular trick was wearing control underwear, with 4 in 10 women using them.
Other tricks include wearing stilettos to add height, wearing big sunglasses to make their face look smaller, and hanging out with friends who are heavier than themselves.
