Teenage sweethearts separated during the Holocaust reunited in Melbourne 70 years later - after Thomas finds Edith living just yards from his son's home
When he was 15, Thomas Beck escaped from a Nazi prison camp in Budapest - but he left behind his teenage sweetheart, Edith Greiman, 14.
There seemed no chance of them ever seeing each other again, for Thomas eventually made his way to Australia and set up a new life.
But fate has brought them back together nearly 70 years later - for Mr Beck discovered that Edith had also survived the Holocaust, had made her way to Australia just like him - and was living in Melbourne just 300 yards from his son.
