The first thing you may notice is that Phoenix has some really cute, silly ears, which really do match his silly kind of personality. The second thing you may notice about Phoenix is his crazy energy. He would love a companion that is willing to go on walks and have a yard to run in. He likes to play catch and run around. Once Phoenix gets out that extra energy, he is very affectionate. Phoenix is a Canaan/Retriever, lab mix. The retriever, lab part is evident in his high energy and the Canaan can also be seen. Canaan dogs are known for being obedient and trainable. They are very intelligent, devoted, gentle and loyal. They (like labs) tend to watch over their homes and are known to bark at people passing by. However, this is something that training can help with. He will need someone who is willing to be the leader of his pack and show him how to be a polite dog and bring out his best. Phoenix is a loving dog waiting for a loving person or family to call his own.
