What a Kroc! I'm losing weight and you can too! Posted May 22, 2012 by Otis Day

I've been doing the Fitness challenge with Lisa from the Kroc center in Green Bay and my pants are getting saggy.

lisa and otis

I've gotten so inspired that I've changed my eating habits too. I've started monitoring what I put in my body with a fitness app on my smartphone, and it's helped a ton. Couple it with my workouts at the Kroc, and I've never felt better. This is my personal trainer Kari.

You can start with your own personal trainer at the Kroc now. Get 20% off memberships through the end of May. This is your last chance to save big! A family can join for as little as $48 bucks. And your kids will LOVE it! So much for them to do there. I bring mine in and they hang out upstairs in the art room working on projects while I sweat my fat off down in the fitness room. Where each bike, treadmill, etc has it's own personal TV for you to watch.

And you don't have to just do regular old cardio and weights. They have classes, clubs, an NBA size gym, a huge aquatic center, and the trainers can get you dong crazy stuff like whatever Lisa is doing here!

Bring your family in for a tour of all the Kroc center has to offer. I think we'll end up seeing you there a lot!

Look at what my kids do while I'm working out at the Kroc Posted May 14, 2012 by Otis Day

So I'm on my fourth week of the Fitness challenge at the Kroc Center and I feel GREAT! I'm down 5 pounds, have more energy, and look forward to my workouts. I'm up against Lisa from the Kroc...she's been doing this workout weight loss thing much longer than me, and it shows. But I'm catching up!

I realized when you really enjoy something and are being pushed that you'll show up more(My personal trainer Kari pushes me hard...you can get one of the many personal trainers the Kroc has with your membership.) I've been finding the time to get in for an hour total(workout, shower, etc) four to five times a week.

Otis on the bike

One of the ways I make it work is by taking the kids with me. During the after school program(Included with your family membership....yah, no extra charge!!!) Britton and Hudson hung out upstairs playing, working on crafts, homework, etc while I worked my butt off!

While I was on the bike, Britton was doing this!

Britton playing XBOX 360

While I was watching my own personal TV on the bike(The bikes, treadmills, elipticals all have them built in)....

Screen Shot of my bike

Hudson was in the game room getting his "Chutes and Ladders" on!

I'm not kidding when I say getting a family membership to the Kroc Center is one of the best things I've done for myself, for my family...in years.

Join through the 31st of May and save 20%. No registration fee, and SO much to offer your entire family.

Man completes Triatholon while juggling Posted May 14, 2012 by Otis Day

A man from Florida became the first man to ever juggle his way through a triathlon -- even swimming.

This 31-year-old man swam a quarter-mile while juggling three balls, then biked 16.2 miles while juggling two balls in one hand and ran four miles, also juggling. What's even more amazing is that he did it all in 1 hour and 57 minutes.

The man has been juggling since he was 8. He got into "joggling," juggling while running, in 2008. He became obsessed with that sport's Holy Grail: Completing a full triathlon while juggling.

Juggling while swimming was the hardest part of his race. He somehow managed to complete the running and biking portions of the triathlon without dropping a ball. Swimming wasn't as successful—he dropped balls three times while he was in the water.

RecordSetter.com recognized the feat by achieving Fastest Time To Complete A Juggling Triathlon. He did apply for the Guinness record, but the committee wanted him to ride the bike without using his hands.

Here we are shaving my girlfriend's head Posted May 10, 2012 by Otis Day

My girlfriend Melinda said if she raised enough money for the JDRF walks, she'd shave her head. She changed her mind though. She had ME shave it.

We all decided to get involved. Why not? How often do you get to do something like this? Britton started us all off!

Britton Cutting Melinda's hair

My son Hudson and I both have Type I diabetes, and we just did the GB walk last weekend. This weekend is the FDL walk, and the 19th we'll be at the Appleton walk. The GB walk was a blast...there were lots of Packers, a Monster truck, inflatable bounce houses, food, face painting, and more. But none of it compares to Hudson getting to cut Melinda's hair!

After a few clips, it was time to bring out the big guns!

What a HUGE heart she has. And....she pulls off bald almost better than I do!

6-year-old with cerebral palsy surprises Marine father by walking for the first time Posted May 10, 2012 by Otis Day

A Marine got the gift of a lifetime when he returned from Afghanistan to find that his son with cerebral palsy had learned to walk.

The heartwarming moment was recorded as it unfolded in a school gymnasium, as Staff Sgt. Jeremy Cooney believed his son's cerebral palsy would keep him from being able to move without assistance for his entire life.

His wifes says the family "kept the fact that he could walk a secret the whole time his dad was gone."

As the boy's father enters the gymnasium, he looks around for his family until he spots his son.

Sgt. Cooney crouches down and watches his smiling boy walk across the gym floor to his father.
