Packers General Manager Ted Thompson signed five players that were brought in on a tryout basis for the rookie orientation camp last weekend. Fullback Jonathan Amosa of Washington, linebackers Donta Savage of New Mexico State and Jarvis Wilson of Prairie View A & M, defensive back Brandon Smith of Arizona State and wide receiver Tyrone Walker of Illinois State have all earned looks through the organized team activities and training camp this summer. NFL rules cap roster limits at 90 players during the off-season so a couple of players had to go. Green Bay released linebacker Micah Johnson who was on the practice squad last fall and fullback Ryan Roberson from Texas.
The Family Night scrimmage will return for a 13th year. The Packers announced the scrimmage will take place Saturday night, August 3 at Lambeau Field. Tickets, priced at $10.00 a seat, go on sale June 24.
