The wonderful folks at Wine Enthusiast Magazine have released their list of America's 100 Best Wine Restaurants for 2013.
The list is not sequential, which means it would be left up to your palette how that is done.
However, the list is broken down into region. So, for residents of the Upper Midwest (like me), you can view them alphabetically to where those restaurants are located.
(**NOTE: The Midwest region somehow includes New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, Idaho and Montana. Not exactly within close driving distance, but that's how Wine Enthusiast chose to do it.)
The lone Wisconsin restaurant named is Madison's L'Etoile.
The publication interviewed Chef Tory Miller for its piece. It also includes all the pertinent information, like pairing, the list itself and something dubbed, "riot-worthy dish."
Earlier this year, I talked about L'Etoile being a semi-finalist for the 2013 James Beard Award for Outstanding Wine Program.
My recommendation is if you're in downtown Mad-town, pop in to 1 South Pinckney Street and enjoy the experience at a much shorter distance than Scottsdale.
