Here's your cute fix of the day.  Seriously, just adorable.  Sometimes kids are so unintentionally funny.  Take my 4 year old Hudson.  I got him a nerf gun for Christmas.  Now before you get all freaky like, "Why would you get a four year old a toy gun you terrible parent?"...I grew up playing with fake guns and I'm fine.  In fact, when I was young...the guns didn't come all orange and fake looking.  They were die-cast replicas and looked incredible.  I always pretended to be the good guy catching the bad guy.  So it's not the toy that's the issue....it's the environment they grow up in.  Anyways...after I got him the gun we had the talk about not pointing them at people and only shooting the TV and the Windows(where the darts will stick.)

Okay, fast forward 3 hours.  We're hooking the new Wii up.  I've never played one, so my 7 year old Britton has to show me how to use it.  She shows me how to create your Mii(which is a digital version of yourself that you end up seeing when you're bowling, or playing Tennis and the other games.)  So Britton and I are Wii Bowling(and she's kicking my but BIG time).  Hudson gets annoyed at Britton for something, picks up his Nerf gun, and proceeds to unload all 6 rounds on the TV at the digital Britton(Mii).  It was so hard not to laugh.  He beat the system.  He shot the TV and Britton without breaking a rule.  Kinda proud of him.

  • Aerosmith's Steven Tyler checks into Rehab

    Posted by Otis Day

Aerosmith's Steven Tyler has checked himself into a Rehab facility for addiction to prescription painkillers.  He released a statement to People.com late Tuesday night that said in part:

"With the help of my family and team of medical professionals, I am taking responsibility for the management of my pain and am eager to be back on the stage and in the recording studio with my bandmates Joe Perry, Joey Kramer, Tom Hamilton and Brad Whitford."  Steven went on to tell People:

"I love Aerosmith; I love performing as the lead singer in Aerosmith," adding "I am grateful for all of the support and love I am receiving and am committed to getting things taken care of."

  • This makes me love Christmas Carols

    Posted by Otis Day

This is called "Aggressive Caroling."  It's my new favorite thing.  Makes me want to bite the head off our Christmas Turkey while it's still alive.

The other night we talked about the worst Christmas gift you've ever gotten.  When I was married, my wife was really upset I bought her lawn furniture and a big fan one year.  But see...she can't sleep without a fan and we needed one.  Plus she always complained about not having nice outside furniture for our patio.  I thought I was doing great.  Apparantly that sort of thing is less of a 'gift', and more of a thursday trip to Wal-mart 'hey can you help me grab the stuff I picked up at the store' kinda thing.  CNN has come up with a way to deal with it if your Husband/Boyfriend gets you a lame gift.

  • Is this why it takes so long to build a house?

    Posted by Otis Day

Extreme Makeover can build a house in 7 days.  This guy can film a bunch of Youtube videos about how he's not working very hard on the house they've been building for a few months now in about 7 days.  Nice.

  • I don't even like to wrap the kids presents!!

    Posted by Otis Day

Wrapping gifts is the thing I dislike most about Christmas.  If it were up to me(which I guess it is, but I don't think I can get away with it) I'd just put all the gifts under the tree Christmas Eve unwrapped....the right side would be all Britton's and the left would be all Hudson's.  So there's no way I'd ever do this(wasn't this done on the Office one year?).

    Upside down tree

    Tuesday December 22, 2009

I've heard of the Upside Down Christmas tree thing before, but I still don't know if I quite get it.  Is it just to be different?  Why not a nose ring like every other 16-26 year old in America instead?

christmas tree made out of boxes

I'm not sure if this ones gonna work.  If the tree is made out of boxes...what are the presents?  Little trees?  That might work.

    Christmas Tree ladder

This one makes the most sense.  Cheap, easy, and lots of room for packages(this is starting to sound like a great set up for a "Kinda like my prom date..." line).

    Video Game Christmas Tree

Another sign that Video Games run our lives.

I like that with this particular tree....you wouldn't have to worry about it catching on fire.  Plus my cats wouldn't go anywhere near it.

  • Toy Story 3 Extended Clip

    Posted by Otis Day

This is an extended clip from Toy Story 3(Wow....Have I become like the movie blogger lately or what?)  It's short, and all it made me do was yell "Noooooooooo!" at the computer, but it's still cool that the gang is coming back in Spring.

  • Come on! Mine can't even get their poop in the box!

    Posted by Otis Day

I've always thought that when I leave....our two cats do all kinds of stuff.  Cause when I'm home...they just lay around and sleep.  Sometimes they wake up so they can move to the other couch and go to sleep.  But when I'm gone, I'm pretty sure they're sneaking in the fridge and eating my tuna fish.

  • Shrek 4 Ever After trailer

    Posted by Otis Day

Since I'm being honest(see post below "Iron Man 2"), I will tell you i AM very excited for the 4th Shrek.  All of them have been great, and even if I didn't have kids I would at least rent them.  I've enjoyed most of the Pixar and Dreamworks animated films.  This one's gonna be in 3D, which means if i can get away without telling my kids, I'll take them to the regular 2D one over at the east side Marcus and save a few bucks.

  • Iron Man 2 Official Trailer

    Posted by Otis Day

Here's the official trailer for Iron Man 2, which hits theatres May 7, 2010.  I'm being honest now.  I put this up for you.  I have no interest in it.  Same with Transformers.  And Star Trek.  They just aren't for me.  In fact I walked out of the first Iron Man.  And I was on an airplane.(Thanks Joan Rivers for that one.)  I also realize that this trailer does look really cool, and that a lot of you will love this movie!  So have at 'er.

  • I-Yaz is NOT Sean Kingston...here's the proof

    Posted by Otis Day

This is the video for "Replay" by I-Yaz.  It was number 1 on the Top 9 @ 9 for quite awhile a month or so ago.  He was on the All Night Party and I told him about how many people call up asking for "Replay" by Sean Kingston.  He laughed and told me that the two of them are actually best friends.  They pretty much live together, and if it hadn't been for Kingston constantly sending I-Yaz messages on Myspace(it was this thing before Facebook and Twitter...don't worry about it, not important), he may never have gotten a record deal.  The video is finally out, and it does prove that he's not Sean Kingston.
