  • New Maroon 5 Album Cover - Dirrty!

    Hands All Over

Yes, I spelled dirty with two "r's" because this is quite the album cover.  I LOVE Maroon 5, so I can look past the fact that I feel like if this were on the cover of a magazine at a gas station that it would be one of those that were in plastic, if you know what I mean.  You don't?   I don't either... :)

  • Little Known Facts About My Home State - Minnesota

    Posted by Corey Carter

Since everybody at the station gives me a hard time for being from MINNESOTA and being a VIKINGS fan...I decided to throw a little self-depricating humor your way about my great home state of Minnesota:

MINNESOTA BECAME THE 32ND STATE ON MAY 11, 1858 AND WAS ORIGINALLY SETTLED BY A LOST TRIBE OF NORWEGIANS SEEKING REFUGE FROM THE SEARING HEAT OF WISCONSIN'S WINTERS.

MINNESOTA GETS IT'S NAME FROM THE SIOUX INDIAN WORD "MAH-NEE-SOO-TAH", MEANING "NO, REALLY... THEY EAT FISH SOAKED IN LYE".

THE MALL OF AMERICA IN  BLOOMINGTON, MINNESOTA COVERS 9.5 MILLION SQUARE FEET AND HAS ENOUGH SPACE TO HOLD 185,000 IDIOT TEENAGERS YAPPING AWAY ON CELL PHONES.

CARTOONIST CHARLES M. SHULTZ WAS BORN IN MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA AND GREW  UP IN ST. PAUL. HE WAS THE ONLY ARTIST TO ACCURATELY DEPICT THE PERFECTLY CIRCULAR HEADS OF  MINNESOTA NATIVES.

THE FIRST FULLY AUTOMATIC POP-UP TOASTER WAS INVENTED IN  MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA IN 1926.  MINNESOTA'S STRINGENT BREAD - CONTROL LAWS CURRENTLY ONLY ALLOW RESIDENTS TO OWN -- SEMI-AUTOMATIC TOASTERS.

WATER SKIS WERE INVENTED IN 1922 IN  LAKE CITY,  MINNESOTA BY RALPH SAMUELSON.  SADLY, HE DROWNED SHORTLY AFTERWARDS, AS THE MOTORBOAT HADN'T BEEN INVENTED YET.

THE STAPLER WAS INVENTED IN SWINGLINE, MINNESOTA BY A CHUBBY, MUMBLING MAN NAMED  MILTON IN 1899. THE CITY WAS MYSTERIOUSLY DESTROYED BY FIRE LATER THAT YEAR.

and finally...for all you Packers fans:

THE STATE SONG OF MINNESOTA IS "SOMEDAY THE VIKINGS WILL... AW, NEVER MIND".

  • Katy Perry on Letterman

    Posted by Corey Carter

Now I admit that Katy Perry might not have the best voice in music, but I really like this performance.  Plus, she's beautiful, but not in the supermodel way...in a way like she would be a girl you could see at the mall on a Saturday afternoon.  This song is really growing on me...and I think David Letterman liked the performance too!

  • Maroon 5's Adam Levine Hops Like Bunny!

    Posted by Corey Carter

That's what Adam Levine gets for being so sexy (I guess!) He's literally a babe magnet...and looks like a nervous bunny when he's approached on-stage!

  • Get to know Corey Part 1

    Posted by Corey Carter

Since I'm the new guy around here, I figure that you should get to know me a little better.  I'm a lifelong MN resident...yes a VIKINGS fan...but I'm also going to cheer for the Packers too (is that legal?!?)  Just so all you die-hard Packer fans don't hate me this soon, I have to post something that will get you to feel bad about having bitter feelings towards before you even know me :)

What better way to do that than with a BABY PICTURE?!?!?

I have a loving and beautiful wife and a 8month old little girl named Jenna...here's a picture from this weekend:

Hopefully, you'll get to meet us soon!!!

  • Local Food for American Bang

    Posted by Corey Carter

So, you probably know that AMERICAN BANG is going to be on the Foxy Lady for a Studio 101 show this coming Monday, August 2nd.  One of the guys from the band blogs about local food and beer, so I figured I'd ask YOU what is a unique local food he should try when they are in town.  Thanks for ALL the calls and texts!!!  Here is the one I'm most intrigued with: (via text message)

for great local food; FetaZ in downtown GB on the riverfront, the Angry Pig Sandwich is amazing... if you haven't tried it... go and get it asap
pork 3 ways; slow roasted, deep fried and of course bacon... topped with a cranberry chutney, baby spinach & a sweet tangy sauce on fresh baked chibatta
Any other suggestions??? Now I'm hungry!!!
